How UPPALE works
UPPALE is a live bidding platform where slot positions decay continuously. Owners bid for rank; supporters boost slots they believe in; everyone earns something — owners earn income, supporters earn rewards.

PLATFORM MECHANICS
A slot is a listing you own — a restaurant, creator, brand, or any entity competing for visibility. You create it once, place an opening bid, and it enters the live leaderboard immediately.
Slot owners place bids in their category's leaderboard. The bid amount sets your starting score. To outrank a competitor, your bid must exceed theirs by at least the category's minimum increment (e.g. 5%).
Every slot's effective score decays at 0.99× per hour — continuously, in real time. A {100} bid is worth {9510} after 5 hours and {8179} after 20 hours. Sitting still means falling. Refreshing your bid resets the clock.
Anyone — customers, fans, partners — can boost a slot they support by sending credits directly to it. 95% goes to the slot owner; the platform keeps 5%. Boosts reset the decay clock, giving the slot a fresh effective score.
UPPALE charges a flat 5% on every boost. There are no listing fees, no subscription costs, and no hidden charges. The owner always receives at least 95% of each boost amount.
Slot owners can configure reward tiers — upload promo codes and set a boost threshold. Qualifying boosters receive a code instantly. Loyal supporters who boost the same slot 3+ times earn streak credits: 80% of the platform's fee on each qualifying boost, deposited directly to their balance.

Effective score = bid × 0.99^(hours since last placed). Placing a new bid or receiving a boost resets the clock.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is a slot?+
A slot is a listing you own on the platform. Think of it like a billboard position — you bid for visibility in a ranked feed, and supporters can boost you higher. Examples include a restaurant, a content creator, a product, or a local business.
What does 'decay' mean?+
Every bid loses 1% of its effective value per hour (0.99×/h). This creates constant pressure — the longer you go without refreshing your bid, the lower your rank becomes. It's what keeps the leaderboard live and dynamic rather than stagnant.
Can I boost my own slot?+
No. Slot owners cannot boost their own listings. Boosts are a tool for supporters — customers, fans, or partners — to send value to a slot they believe in.
How do voucher codes work?+
Slot owners upload their own promo codes (Shopify discount codes, PDF vouchers, etc.) and set a minimum boost threshold per tier. When a booster's boost amount meets the threshold, a code is delivered instantly in the boost confirmation screen. Codes are FIFO — first booster to qualify gets the next available code.
What is a streak credit?+
Starting from your 3rd boost on the same slot, the platform rebates 80% of its 5% fee back to you as platform credits. On a $10 boost: fee = 50¢, credit = 40¢. Credits accumulate in your balance and can be used for future boosts.
How is the 5% platform fee split?+
For every boost: 95% goes directly to the slot owner's balance, and 5% is retained by UPPALE. There are no other fees. If a streak credit applies, 80% of that 5% (= 4% of the boost amount) is rebated to the booster.
Can I cancel or withdraw a bid?+
Bids and boosts are final once placed — there are no refunds on competitive bids. Your account balance can be topped up via Stripe but is not refundable after use. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact support.
Is my payment information safe?+
Yes. All payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified provider. UPPALE never stores your card details. You can manage your saved payment methods at any time from your account settings.
What happens if all voucher codes run out?+
If a tier has no available codes, the boost still succeeds normally — you simply don't receive a voucher. The boost confirmation will not show a code section when stock is empty. Slot owners can upload more codes at any time.
How do I get started?+
Sign up with an email and password (or Google / Facebook). Add credits to your balance via Stripe. Then either create a slot in a category you want to compete in, or browse the live leaderboards and boost slots you want to support.
